Indie magazines usually contain a lot of colour. The use of variety of colours and brightness means they stand out - this can be percieved as wanting to be the centre of attention. The way the colours are varied brings the magazine out in the shops, this is because indie isn't like emo and goth as they don't stick to black and dark colours.
